For anyone that may be interested, Citizens Advice NI and Advice NI gave evidence to the House of Commons Treasury Sub-committee inquiry into the administration of tax credits on Wednesday. The webcast can be viewed on www.parliamentlive.tv (go into archive enter date of weds 18th Jan and search committees). We got the opportunity to make a few important points, but a lot had already been covered by CPAG, One parent families and Citizens Advice national in their evidence last week. We did manage to get a plug in for Gareth's excellent paper on the possible effect of the £25,000 income disregard and the Shadow Paymaster General was at the hearing and wants more information from us. So, all in all, it was a useful day out. If anyone wants to see a copy of our written submission contact me at ballymenacab2@niacab.org.
