i have come to know of a lot of people being investigated for either fraudlent claims or overpayment of IS and /or Pension Credit.

i am intrigued to know how DWP are accessing peoples savings info?

also there is no doubt that some people just take advantage and purposely claim benefit entitlement when they are aware that savings need to be declared and would effect any claim.

however there are some communities who have a way of saving money with members of an extended family, for such occassion as weddings.

does any one have any experience of appealing overpayment of benefits in these cases? or something similar

any ideas/thougths appreciated.
