irs COMPUTER MAINTAINANCE
Thu 11-Aug-05 09:00 AM

According to Sarah at CPAG ....

"essential maintenance work on the tax
credits computer system will be carried out during two weekends this month -
on 13/14 and 27/28 August.

The e-portal will remain open. Payments will be made as normal. The
Helpline will be open to provide advice and guidance, but Helpline advisers
will not be able access claimants' records - they will take details over the
'phone and input them later. Help and advice is also available on the
website at www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcredits"

i like the 'payments will be made as normal' bit. i suppose that it doesn't cure the computer glitch that prevents the assessment and issue of an award notice so that clerical payments have to be made for 9 months and rising...

i'm not saying EDS is a bunch of cowboys, but it's a sobering thought that the company was founded by ross perot, texan billionaire who wanted to be president of the usa a while back...

what?
