A8 nationals Wed 20-Dec-06 03:45 PM
i wonder if anyone can help with this one. A8 national has stopped work (registered)within a year of arriving and we believe that they have no right to claim public funds. The Handbook mentions a potential challenge to the 'under one year rule' under European law. Has this challenge ever materialized and if so what was the outcome. Are there any exceptions to the residence rule, I've seen other postings that refer to people who are off sick or on maternity leave as stil being considered workers with residence rights.
