Health Care Professionals Tue 17-Jun-08 01:14 PM
I know it was on one of the threads a couple of years ago about PCA's Doctors and Health Care Professionals in Pilot Area's but it seems to have gone stale.
Has anyone any updates via regs or otherwise, regarding the use of 'Health Care Professionals' assessing PCA's?
I am also interested in any issues and feedback on IB appeals where clients have been assessed by 'Health Care Professionals'

Hi
Its regulation 8 (1) of SS (Incapacity for Work) (General) Regulations 1995/311. In the Blue Volumes the amended regulation is on page 3.4386. It refers to reg 3 of SI 2007/1626 as the amending SI.

Just repped at PCA Tribunal this morning, was initially assesed by a Doctor in April 2006 and scored 11point MHealth and in Feb08 by a "Health Care Professional" who scored her 5points MHealth. The Trib were persuaded by the argument that the client wasnt comfortable explaining to a non-Doctor, things that were very personal to her. They seemed more than happy to accept this!
