Tax Credits
Wed 21-May-08 03:03 PM

I have a customer not currently in receipt of either HB or Tax Credits. I have assessed her income and she would qualify for HB however she would get more in Tax Credits. We have advised her to apply for the Tax Credits and I am sure that someone is going to say that this has been covered before but I would like it confirmed that she can apply for HB in the meantime until she receives her Tax Credit award letter and that the Tax Credit amount will then included in the HB claim from the following Monday.

Thanks Kevin - yes it does help - it is as I thought that it should only be included in the calculation from when they are notified and anything awarded for a previous period treated as capital
