I would be very very grateful if you could browse to the link below - a draft guide to crisis loan claims - and let me know your thoughts about it.

At our CAB we have several times felt that it would be useful to have some reference guide for volunteers on the tactics to use when helping clients claim crisis loans. We couldn't really find one, so we wrote one. You can read it here: http://docs.google.com/View?docid=df52fvd9_1dxpdzzd4

I really am keen to hear your opinions on the extent to which this draft is:
i. useful;
ii. intelligible;
iii. accurate.

I would also like to know if there are any alternative publications out there doing a similar job.

If the feedback suggests it is worthwhile, we are considering submitting it to Citizens Advice so it gets broader circulation.

Hi Tom - I found the guide very useful, as it is so practical and details responses/tactics in real life situations. I advise on a helpline, we never see clients face to face and don't do any advocacy - but at least this will help me prepare them for potential difficulties and reassure them about what 'should' happen (eg don't be palmed off, don't accept being sent to the phone box etc etc).
