I have been contacted by a client who must have an appeal to the Commissioner lodged by 28th July 2005. On a point of law regarding whether she is to be treated as single or married for benefit purposes. Unfortunately I am on annual leave as of tomorrow and cannot assist. I have advised the client the matter sounds extremely complex and that Counsel may be required to advise but time limits are very tight and that may pose a problem. This would be on a private fee basis if I was in a position to accept instructions.
Is there anyone out there who could assist this lady please? She has left it rather late but I am assured that there are valid reasons for this. Thank you.
