I'm feeling a bit flippant as i'm about to finish for a lovely long weekend! Just had to share this before i go.
In a letter to our MP (John Hutton) regarding one of our clients HMRC say:
"We do make every effort to make sure that our records are correct, but, given the number of families benefiting from tax credits, there will be cases where mistakes occur." !!!!
Couldn't help laughing my head off - this has got to be the understatment of the century! 
Seems like this particular client, far from having an overpayment, which is why they came to us, have actualy been underpaid by approx £1,600.
