Crisis Loan and Pension credit Sat 28-Jun-08 05:00 PM
I have a single gentleman who is 71 and has been given refugee status. The pension service has been out to see him and it may take up to two month to get things sorted out. He now has recourse to public funds and so applied for a crisis loan. The social fund would only pay 75 per cent of income support for a single person for two weeks. This seems very unfair when the applicable amount for pension credit is 124.05 weekly. Is this right that they use the IS applicable amount rather than the PC applicable amount?
