I have a Polish client who became unemployed in May 07 and has been refused JSA, though she had worked for the same employer for 18 months and had applied for registration within 1 month of starting work. She started work in November 05 and completed forms for registration. Her certificate was issued on 22nd June 06. Under The Accession (Immigration and Worker Registration) regs 2004 an employer is protected as long as the worker has applied for registration within one month of starting work. Is there any protection for workers who have applied appropriately but have not been issued a certificate?
