Residential care and personal expenses and DLA Mob
Tue 10-May-05 12:50 PM

Hi,

I don't have much to do with residential care, so excuse this basic question!

If a claimant is in residential care and receiving the personal expenses allowance of £18-odd, do they get their DLA Mob paid on top of that?

I reasoned that as the personal expenses allowance was an amount deducted from the resident's assessed income, and the DLA Mob was not assessed income that they should receive the PEA + DLA Mob. (But often when I have these bring ideas they turn out to be wrong!)

Sue

Your reasoning is right. DLA mobility is paid in addition to the personal expenses allowance (£18.80)
