I have a client who is claiming IS (due to own health condition) but has also become a carer for partner. She is unable to leave him to attend an interview. Having checked info, I see that a carer can use the need to care for someone as reason for not attending an interview. Does this mean that when the next date for an interview comes up (it has been deferred for a month) she can say no I can't come for this reason? Have submitted a DLA application for the cared for person.
