Advisers help needed re report on people with mental health problems engaging with wider society ......
Tue 06-Feb-07 10:21 AM

Wendy Brown, the Research Manager at the Scottish Recovery Network has contacted us to say -

'The Scottish Recovery Network (who promote and support the recovery of individuals who have had long term mental health problems) are about to release findings from our Scotland wide Narrative Research Project. These findings are based around narrators attitudes to and experience of engaging, working and volunteering in wider society and include perceived difficulties in returning, retaining or initiating work.

I would like to invite comment upon this article from benefit/work experts who could perhaps bring to it some more practical and up to date work/benefits news. As the document is a report on narrative research, it has been necessary to report perhaps misinformed views about potential benefit traps that are no longer there. Perhaps a little bit of input from you could help inform every-one rather than possibly reinforcing myths.

I hope to make this new chapter available for public release by the end of February and as such ask that you return your contributions as soon as possible.

Please contact me @ wendy.brown@scottishrecovery.net if you are interested in this report and I will forward a copy for your perusal/input.

Warmest wishes

Wendy Brown'
