Hello all
I'm trying to advise someone as to their benefit options, but we've found a little difficulty in that her only document is from the Immigration and Nationality Department in 1999, granting temporary admission for her asylum claim to be considered.
It says 'any unofficial alteration to this document will render it invalid' and unfortunately someone's scribbled out the date of birth on the form, presumably in some earlier effort to try to access help as an under 18 year old (? I don't know much about this sort of thing).
Anyway, what do I advise her now?
I used to have the address of someone to write to at Lunar House, to establish immigration status, but I've tried this and no response.
I assume she's best off not making claims to benefit at present until she can establish immigration status?
