asylum seeker, 28 day grace period after possative decision Thu 22-Apr-10 02:49 PM
We had a family who were living in NASS supported accommodation. They were granted ILR and given the NASS 35 document stating the 28 day grace period and the date when support ended.
We managed to rehouse the family into a private rented accommodation with the teancy start date one week before the NASS support ended.
HB are now refusing to pay for the first week because NASS should be paying (they have paid previous claims).
As far as we are aware NASS accommodation support is "property specific" to NASS accommodation and is not transferrable to a new tenancy. Anyone know how we can prove this ?
New landlord is not happy. Can HB do this and under what regulations.
