Does anyone know if there is going to be an amnesty on over payments. I have a client who has been overpaid by £4000+. He has been asked to set up a direct debit to repay this monthly - it is not due to official error but due in part to a misunderstanding - he has claimed the High rate care element when in fact he gets low care . The wording on the form is misleading. The overpayment is also due to the fact that he ceased to become a single person and lived with a partner. He is registered blind. Any ideas??
