Is anyone else having these problems?

Since the loss of the HMRC disk, our local tax office has refused giving out tax credit claim forms.

My client called the "helpline" 2 weeks ago and was put through security questions just to get a claim pack - she has never claimed before.

The form never arrived - called today from our office and failed the security questions that she had passed 2 weeks earlier.

I was stonewalled by the tax credit helpline person - no, I could not speak to a manager as they would give the same response, no he could not tell me why a security check is needed to get a claim form etc etc.

This is completely ridiculous

I managed to track down a telephone number for the Bulk Tax Credit Claim Packs Department.

Due to the historical problems with fraudulent claims HMRC have tightened up their procedures - you can order boxes of forms/envelopes/guides but they will ask you to confirm that you do NOT hand out the forms but complete them with the claimants.

Your office will have to register with them (you are given a registration number to quote for future orders) so they can then track the order back if necessary.
