Lower rate mobility for physical problems
Fri 23-Jan-09 09:08 AM

Hi

I am currently preparing a disability living allowance appeal. The client's claim (which I helped her to complete) was turned down completely. I will definitely be disputing higher mobility but I am unsure of whether to include information about lower rate mobility in my submission.

The client has Sacroiliac Joint problems which cause physical difficulties with her walking. She told myself that unfamiliar places are more difficult because not knowing the layout of locations, she does not know where steep inclines are so cannot avoid them. Is this a viable argument?

Thanks

I think the question I would be asking is where is the guidance or supervision? I don't think the occasional use of an arm for support is supervision or guidance "most of the time". Sue
