j.s.a / pca ? ? ?
Tue 19-Feb-08 07:52 AM

a warm howdo to all on this very chilly tuesday morning
bbbrrrrrrrrrrr ... saw polar bear on way to work !

anyway, surreality aside, ahem !

have cl. who was long term i.b but returned to work 06 for approx. 14 months until 14/11/07 when he had to give up work due to his mental health worsening again.
claimed j.s.a on 06/11/07 and was sent for pca on 30/01/08 (which he failed scoring 8 points from mental health assessment alone).
i'm somewhat confuised because in the just over 5 years i've been doing this job i've never once come across a person being asked to attend a pca if claiming j.s.a ?
i did discuss this with a jcp employee who bamboozled me with gibberish and then went on to say that it was somewhere in the legislation ? ? ?

well, any thoughts on this one and has anyone else known a person claiming j.s.a to be asked to attend pca ?

rsvp etc and have a very good day all !

Hi Pete

Is there a jobseekers agreement in place signed by both the Department and client?

If he's claiming jsa then he is implying that he is fit for work. Sounds to me as if someone failed to notice he wasn't claiming IB/IS any more.
Hate to ask this - but did he tell them when he started work and was he still getting benefits while working? That sort of confusion could account for it, ie incapacity office doesn't know he's working and doesn't know he's claimed jsa, and jsa don't know he was getting incap, because of well-known right hand not knowing what left hand is doing in different bits of DWP.
