motability scheme
Tue 13-Sep-05 12:38 PM

What if someone got HRMC but couldn't drive (e.g. maybe not allowed to due to medical condition)? Could they still get a motability car, but let somone else drive tehm around? Would the claimant remain as teh registered keeper of the car? obviously the other person would have to be insured in their name.
The motability website refers to lending or loaning the car not being allowed, I presume that means where the car is loaned to someone else and the claimant doesn't have any use or "enjoyment" of it.

An application for a car be made on behalf of a child aged three or older, who is entitled to the mobility allowance, and even if you don't drive, but receive the allowance, you can apply for a car as a passenger and propose two other people as your drivers.

The above is a passage from the motobility bumph......So the short answer is yes you can still apply

thanks Margie, I've had a good look at that site and it's answered by initail query.
It has now developed into something more complicated.....
