I've not come across this before. Client had letter from HMRC stating they are recovering overpaid child benfit paid in Holland by Dutch Benefit Office (or whatever it's called)from her UK CB entitlement. Overpayment from 2001-2004. Client was traced by Dutch authorites and was sent decision (in English) and one month to appeal which she didn't. Interestingly according to Dutch Benefit law, if a claimant fails to disclose a change of circs within 4 weeks of the date of the change an automatic fine of 250 euros is imposed in addition to the overpayment amount.
Has anyone else had similar issues with Dutch benefit overpayments being recovered by UK HMRC or JCPlus?
