I have a bit of a confusing case - A client works between 23 and 25 hours a week in a supermarket and takes home about £143. He has recently had taken quite a bit of holiday time after a long period without any. Every fortnight he had 10 hours holday pay added to his wages, increasing them by about £50 (so bizarrely he is better off by going on holiday). The LA found out about this and have reduced his HB award because over an 8 week period he earnt a fair bit more. How is holiday pay taken into account? If for example, he got 4 wks a year, should that be averaged out over a year or is it because it is a part-time job it gets taken into account as and when it is paid and his pay changes? Thanks.
