I don't do much Tax Credit stuff so excuse me if this is an easy one.

Are "fee grants" or "course grants" paid to part time students in FE taxable income for TC purposes.

According to the HMRC website, student grants are not included as income for tax credits, apart from a dependancy addition (I think that's what it's called).

Tax credits rules follow an income tax approach so that things such as "grants or scholarship income" are regarded as exempt.
