Income Support Weekly Entitlement
Mon 22-Jan-07 10:05 AM

I have a tenant who has been awarded £14.34 Income Support per week because DWP state her income should be £57.45 per wk but they are deducting £25.42per week b/c she gets Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit, and £17.69per week Child Maintenace. Should DWP have disregarded (£43.11) per week for the the Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit, and Child Maintenance she gets.

IIDB counted in full

Maintenance also taken into consideration in full unless it is a 'new' maintenance arrangement. These would be child support cases from March 2003 and voluntary maintenance from Feb 2004. If so it's not exactly disregarded but she will have a child maintenance premium in her IS (which gives same result anyway)

If she's been incapable in excess of 52 weeks then she could try to get a Med5 (backdated sick note) so the disability premium is paid straight away
