DWP contact number/address needed
Wed 27-Feb-08 12:01 PM

Rather than engage in a wild goose chase around various DWP offices, thought I'd post this here in the hope that I'd save some time.

I need to establish that my client was in receipt of IS as an asylum seeker as at 4/2/96 and therefore was covered by transitional protection. Client says he was in receipt, but understandably has no evidence of this. Makerfield have records of his current JSA claim which dates from 2003 but nothing prior to this. Any ideas for a section that will be able to provide a definitive answer?

Although it might not be of use to you I've cut and pasted this from an old post of mine from when I was trying to find out about my own A8 client's benefit.

Fax given to me was 01955 673265 but it might have been alpha split section for my R2R case so not sure.
