HMRC Volunteers
Fri 25-Sep-09 01:54 PM

Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has recently set up an alternative contact route for deaf and hard of hearing customers who claim Tax Credits.

This service allows people to report a change of circumstances to their Tax Credit entitlements by email.

HMRC has asked for volunteers to test this service. If you are deaf or hard of hearing and this affects you, please test this route.

For more information and to volunteer to test the service, please contact:

they should allow email for all who have access to it. i'm a great believer in things being in writing, then there can be no mistake as to who said what when.

Yes i agree, the email option has been suggested at many DWP and HMRC meetings, in an attempt for them to roll this out to a wider customer base, but the same old response always comes back and thats the one of security.
Now that HMRC have embraced this as an option (If only for a relatively small audience) perhaps others will now sit up and listen, so that this may become a source which is made available.

I totally agree with Claire on this.
I use snail mail in all my dealings with HMRC, and of course keep copies of everything sent to them.
Just don't trust them, even email is a no go for me when dealing with HMRC.

set up tracking on your email client to tell you when emails are delivered and when they are read, and then print off the relevant notifications for the file,,,,
