I am trying to find how many appeals are successful re decision to refuse Income Support on the ground on LTAHAW.I would like to know a nationwide figure.

I would be absolutely astonished if the information is colelcted on this point, but you never know. This is partly becsue there are so many possibel permutations, eg an appeal that starts of being about lthaw and then the DWP accpet that it isn't but the guy is a non-dependent and the whole thing was triggered by the the attempt to recover the resulting overpayment - I think what I'm saying is that even finding out how many appeals there are about lthaw is not easy as there's all this disentangling to do. That is assuming that the apepal is really about it in the first place: you can't always rely on DWP to idnetify the issues at stake correctly.

But you never know.

Interesting question! The DWP might keep stats on it because, in the north west at least, they seem to think ltahaw appeals are important as they ALWAYS send a presenting officer to them. When you know how seldom they send a presenting officer to appeals in general, you appreciate how significant this seems.

I would imagine they do - whenever we have to present stats to DWP they always ask us to break them down into ltahaw; earnings and others.
* these stats are for investigations, just trying to highlight what the above poster said about how important DWP treat LT's *
