I’m working on an updated version with the White paper stuff incorporated.
I’ll send a version out when completed.
I’ve now finished the new version of my paper examining and modelling the effects of the changes announced in the budget, the CSR and the Universal Credit white paper. It has lots of case study examples (and a few nice poverty traps) so it’s over 60 pages I’m afraid but I’m happy to send a PDF to anyone who’d like a copy.
For those who may have got multiple copies a couple of days ago; sorry.
Just email me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
I am having trouble with identifying WHEN some of the changes will go live. I know that some dates were given but for example in case of EMA it is not clear at all to me. Losing it will will be a pure loss as EMA does not count as income so it won’t be remedied by increase in HB etc, and one of my clients asked me today how is she is going to plug £90 a week hole (she has 3 teenagers who get £30 each a week). £90 hit, oh Lordy….
I understand from my stepdaughter that the EMA bonuses for good attendance and keeping up with the work have now gone. I think this is a cut of £200.
EMAs are ending for new applicants next month, Jan 2011. Existing claimants will continue to receive it until the end of the academic year.
