JSA versus PC
Thu 05-Mar-09 12:39 PM

Couple both between 60 and 65. She gets RP, he gets contribution based JSA. they get a small top up of GPC. Can he simply give up his JSA and get a corresponding increase in GPC, or would he be treated as having notional income equal to JSA. At p461 the CPAG handbook says a man in this age bracket can choose between IB JSA and PC, but no reference to CB JSA.

He wouldn't be entitled to c-jsa if he wasn't available for work so couldn't be treated as notional income in those circumstances?

There are no notional income rules in SPC except for pensions which could be claimed under the terms of the scheme.
