from ssac .... how vulnerable people access Jobcentre Plus services

request for info from the social security advisory committee -

'The Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) is doing a small project looking at how more vulnerable customers access Jobcentre Plus services.

One of the things we are looking at is the impact of the AJCS (Accessing Jobcentre Customer Services) programme that has been initiated by Jobcentre Plus in order to improve working links between Jobcentre Plus and the welfare rights organisations that support vulnerable customers.

We would be very interested to hear from you about whether you were aware of the changes to Jobcentre Plus procedures brought in under the auspices of AJCS, and whether you have noticed any changes in your ability to arrange face-to-face interviews for your customers in your local jobcentres since these changes were brought into effect. We would also be interested to know if you have a dedicated phone number to enable you to have direct access to you BDC and if so, whether this has proved to be helpful and effective in resolving benefit enquiries. Any additional information about your experience of working with AJCS would
also be helpful.

If you would like to contribute, please email SSAC directly (ssac@dwp.gsi.gov.uk) with your email flagged for the attention of Anna Bee.
