Telephone claims
Mon 23-Feb-09 03:16 PM

I've am client that asserts he made numerous claims for IS last year over the phone. We don't do claims, just appeals and I've no idea how long a telephone claim takes so...

How long does a telephone claim for Income Support take?

Looking at the proforma which is completed over the phone, I would be surprised if you could do it much less than half an hour.

Technically I think it isn't a claim but a "first contact", the date from which the claim runs as long as the signed printout is returned or WFI attended within a month.

Did one for a hearing impaired claimant a bit back and it took an hour. Hence why we don't usually do them!
